Higher proportion of places can be afforded by first time buyers, says Halifax

The average amount of cash forked out for a house in the majority of the UK's local authority districts is one which first time buyers who earn an average wage could afford, says Halifax.

And there has been a hike in the proportion of places which first time buyers could afford property in.

This has gone up to a higher proportion than has been seen this side of 2002.
